These as others have said are a low cut boot. Takes a little time to get them broke in. Comfortable after they do.

I'm in the automotive repair industry. It's solid and sturdy in the construction and sole. The non-slip feature shoud'nt even be questioned. (its there like every SFC product). It's pretty much a low-cut boot like they claim it is. I chose it too for the breathability.

The low cut Defender is a beautiful Shoe, looks great hopefully when it broken in the shoe will feel more softer as I walk, but I do love the shoe.
