About Our Shoes

General Sizing Guidelines

All sizes shown are U.S. sizes. Sizing standards vary among different manufacturers, so we recommend that youshoe-sizing-dropdown order the size that normally fits you best. Shoes For Crews footwear tries to maintain consistent sizing for all of our different styles, and our sizes generally run true to U.S. sizing standards. If your shoes do not fit, don't worry - you are covered by our Satisfaction Guarantee

All available sizes will be displayed in the Select Size drop-down menu. If a size is not shown in the list for the style that you are viewing, then we do not make that size. If you are between sizes, we recommend that you order the 1/2 size larger. Sorry, we cannot special order unavailable sizes.

All styles are made with a standard medium width. Some styles are available in wide sizes, which is an EE width for men and a C width for women. If wide sizes are not listed when you select a size, then wide sizes are not available for the style you are viewing.

Fitting Tips and Guidelines

  • When measuring your feet, measure both feet and fit to the larger size.

  • Best time to measure & fit shoes – when your feet are at their largest volume, usually in the late afternoon or evening.

  • Always try to fit your new shoes with the same hose/socks you will wear regularly with this category of shoe.

  • If you use an insert or orthotic inside your shoes, consider the extra volume when fitting new shoes.  If your new shoes have a removable insert, remember to remove this and replace with it with your own insert or orthotic.  Inserts or orthotics affect the way a shoe fits.

  • Select a SFC shoe style that best matches your foot shape.

  • Make sure the widest part of your foot (the girth around the ball) fits comfortably into the widest part of the shoe.  The shoe should be as wide as your foot have a length that is a thumb’s length (1/2 inch) longer than your longest toe when standing.

  • Wiggle your toes to make sure you have enough toe room.

  • Don’t select a shoe too small to avoid heel slippage.  Your shoes should ‘break’ nicely across the forepart, even when new.

  • Boots are more supportive and durable but may be heavier and less flexible in the forepart.

  • Try your new SFC shoes at home or on a clean surface for a few minutes before deciding fit and comfort.

  • Remember the size of your feet change as you grow older, normally they get larger.

  • Don’t buy shoes too tight and expect them to stretch to fit.

  • Thick soled shoes cushion your feet better on hard surfaces.

  • A laced or Velcro® closure shoe usually fits more securely than a slip-on or pump style.

  • Low heeled shoes are more comfortable and safer than high heeled shoes.

Note: These are general guidelines only. Sizing recommendations for any exceptions are noted clearly on specific style product pages.

Cleaning The Upper:

How to Clean Leather Shoes:Cole Haan Shoe

  1. Dirt and other debris can embed into leather. Use a shoe brush and shoe wipes to remove excess dirt and debris before you start polishing.
  2. Remove the shoelaces from your shoes before you start polishing them. This is the most effective method of cleaning the tongue of the shoe and avoiding staining the laces.
  3. When using shoe polishes or creams, for best results first apply the shoe polish or cream evenly with a brush or soft cloth. Once the polish has dried, buff to a brilliant shine using a natural bristle brush. NOTE: It is important to use a separate brush and cloth for applying and buffing different colored shoes.
  4. If you prefer a more convenient alternative, there are instant shine liquids. First remove excess dirt and then apply the liquid evenly to your shoes. The formulation restores color and dries to an instant shine – without the need to buff.
  5. Use shoe protector products to help waterproof your shoes and to protect them from common stains caused by water, mud, dust, snow or salt.
  6. Store leather shoes using a shoe tree, to help keep the shape of the leather. If you can't use a shoe tree (e.g., for strappy shoes), stuff the toe cap with newspaper or tissue. Never store or dry leather shoes near direct heat.

How to Clean Canvas Shoes:Ollie shoe

  1. Start by taking a shoe brush or an old toothbrush and remove any dirt or debris before washing your shoes.
  2. Optional: Remove your shoelaces before starting.
  3. Mix a few drops of mild dish detergent into a bucket or sink filled with cold water.
  4. Using an old toothbrush, dip it into the soapy water and gently brush the canvas in circular motions to clean up any stains.
  5. Without getting any water inside of the shoes, use a clean, damp cloth and rinse the soap off. Repeat until the canvas is clean and all traces of soap are removed. (Dried soap residue may cause staining.)
  6. Crumple up a few sheets of paper towel or newspaper, and stuff it in the shoe to help the shoe keep its shape while drying.
  7. Place the shoes in a well-ventilated area to let the shoes dry naturally.
  8. Caution: We DO NOT recommend putting your Shoes For Crews shoes in the dryer under any circumstances.

How to Clean EVA Clogs and Boots:radium shoe

  1. If your shoe or boot has a removable insole, take the insole out before your start.
  2. Rinse the shoes or boots thoroughly with plain water to quickly remove any dirt or debris.
  3. Use a soft cloth to wipe away any remaining dirt and debris from the shoe surface.
  4. If additional cleaning is needed, mix a few drops of mild dish detergent with water in a bucket or sink and then put your shoes in to soak.
  5. While your clogs or boots are soaking, use a scrub brush to gently scrub any remaining dirt away.
  6. Rinse your shoes thoroughly and allow them to completely dry.
  7. Caution: Avoid leaving your shoes where they will be exposed to heat or sun, such as a dishwasher, washing machine, or hot car, as this can cause the shoes to shrink or warp.

How to Clean CrewGuard® Overshoes:overshoe image

  1. Method 1: Dishwasher
    Remove any food or debris with our Sole Grid Cleaner, then place your CrewGuard® Overshoes on the top shelf of the dishwasher.

    Caution: Heat in excess of 180°F (82°C) will cause CrewGuard® Overshoes to contract slightly. They should be allowed to air dry.

  2. Method 2: Hand Wash
    Prepare a soapy solution by mixing mild dishwashing liquid and warm water. Then use a clean rag soaked in the soapy solution to wipe off any dirt, food or oil on the surface.

  3. Drying Your CrewGuard® Overshoes
    CrewGuard® Overshoes should always be air dried, but a great way to soak up excess moisture is to crumple up paper towels and stuff them into your shoes, then remove after a few hours.


How to Clean Suede & Nubuck Shoes:chukka shoe image

  1. Your suede shoes deserve special attention. Make sure to clean and waterproof them regularly.
  2. If your suede shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper while they dry to keep their shape.
  3. Always allow them to dry naturally and never put them near direct heat.
  4. Suede and nubuck shoes will look their best when brushed. You can use specialized suede and nubuck brushes and cleaning blocks for this purpose.

Other Shoe Cleaning Tips & Tricks:

  1. To keep your shoes lasting longer, rotate your shoes with another pair.
  2. When you buy a new pair of shoes, protect them before you wear them for the first time.
  3. If your shoes get wet, allow them to dry completely before wearing them again. Once your shoes have dried, waterproof them again with a multi-purpose protector.
  4. Use a shoe horn to assist with putting on your shoes, to keep the heel from losing its shape.
  5. When you travel, always place your shoes inside a shoe bag or wrap your shoes in a soft material.

How to Order on Your Company Account or Payroll Deduction Program
 

1. Log In

To order through payroll deduction or your company's billable account, please log in before adding items to your shopping cart. If you already have a username & password, log in. If you do not have a username & password, please register before proceeding.


2. Shop The Site

Browse the site with the navigation on the top or side of the site. If you already know what item you want, use the 'Select Style#' feature at the top of the site. Another option if you already know what you want or if you have a large order to place is our Quick Order Form. The Quick Order Form button is on the left side of the website.


3. Add Stuff To Your Cart

Be sure to enter the correct quantity of pairs that you wish to order in this style.


4. Enter Employee Information

Enter each employee's size, employee's ID#, and employee's first & last name. Then click the 'Add to Cart' button.


5. Enter Key Code

Key Code can be found on the back of your catalog, on your order form, or on some of our advertisements.


6. Checkout

From here, you can either keep shopping, remove items, or checkout. Click the 'Checkout' button to begin the checkout process.


7. Verify Shipping Information

Verify that we have the correct shipping address and enter the required information. Then click the 'Continue' button.


8. Select Shipping Method

9. Purchase Order Number

Benefits:

Employee Benefits: Employees are allowed to pay for their safe, comfortable, affordable slip-resistant footwear through voluntary payroll deductions. Employee participation usually grows by approximately 300% through the use of payroll deduction.

Company Benefits: Your company will experience a dramatic reduction in employee slip and fall accidents, workers' comp claims, and possibly insurance premiums. Results also include increased worker safety, morale and efficiency.

The Transaction Process

Step 1: The company's employee buys SHOES FOR CREWS® by filling out a payroll deduction form and giving it to their manager for ordering.

Step 2: When the shoes are shipped to your employee at the workplace, a detailed invoice of the transaction is sent to your company. The invoice includes facility number, style, size, employee name, price and social security number. At the time the company opens the payroll deduction program, please advise us whether you wish to receive invoices daily, weekly or bi-weekly.

Multiple billing options are available to simplify your accounting. Before your account is opened, please decide if you want to receive paper invoices, an Excel file summary report detailing all invoices via e-mail, EDI (Electronic Data Interface) or FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

Step 3: Your company deducts installment payments from the employee's paycheck. Most companies make deductions from two to three paychecks. But that's the company's decision.

Step 4: Your company processes the invoice for payment to SHOES FOR CREWS® on a 30 day net basis.

Manager Sign-Offs Are Not Needed.

SFC eliminates the time-consuming work for your accounting department to obtain manager sign-offs with our Employee Receipt Guarantee.

Simply stated, if any employee ever advises your company that he or she has not received the SHOES FOR CREWS® that they paid for, phone or fax us and a credit will be immediately issued. No paperwork is necessary on your part. Over 25,000 companies nationwide use our guarantee rather than manager signoffs to make our payroll deduction plan a snap.

Returns & Credits

SHOES FOR CREWS® will accept returned footwear for any reason within 60 days of purchase or within 6 months for defects.

Shoe returns must be sent to our warehouse with the pre-authorized return form included with all shoe orders. When the shoes are received by us, SFC can either issue a credit (so the company can reimburse the employee's paycheck) or we can send a refund check directly to the employee. When you open your program, please advise us which method you prefer.

Please note: before a credit memo is applied against open invoices, SFC must be notified in writing as to which specific invoices are to be credited. Otherwise, the credit memo will remain open on the statement.

Terms & Conditions

• A 1.5% late fee will be applied to any overdue balance.
